As it started coming back he believed that he was a country singer named Country Mike. The psychologists told us that if we didn't play along with Mike's fantasy, he could be in grave danger. Finally he came back to his senses. This song is one of the many that we made during that tragic period of time

That is NO laughin' matter....that's just sad. just like my friend dep (beastieluver1), i couldn't listen to "Country Mike's Theme" or "Railroad Blues" for a month. i know that sounds stupid! but i have to ability to bearanother's suffering. therefore, i did not listen to the songs out of respect for his mental suffering. :(

Country Mike is probably one of, if not the best song by the BB's. How can anyone possibly not appreciate that song? The astounding simplicity of it makes it a total classic. Love it, love it.

Mike D never hit his head, never lost his memory, never thought he was a country singer. man, some beastie fans still dont understand the bboys sense of humour. i find it hilarious that people actually believed it. what Yauch wrote in TSOS was just a joke. Oh yeah, the LP was never officially released anywhere, let alone ebay, thats where the bootlegs run rife!! Mike D and the boys made the album, prob just cos they had lots of time and cash at their disposal, and thought it might be fun. then they gave away copies to friends and family at grand royal at christmas. some real copies do get sold on ebay but hardly ever. difference between bootleg and OG can be found here-
