Pass The Mic - Yauch was on a mission. He was standing in the middle of the live room at G-Son, directing traffic. We were several months into the recording of 'Check Your Head.' The process had been loose but productive. We had never made a records like this. We knew how to play and we knew how to sample and program and scratch and MC, but doing all of the above was uncharted territory. We didn't know what we were doing, in the best way possible. there was a lot of experimentation. Which was what Yauch was consumed with that day.
